How to Use the Neckline Knitting Calculator

How to Use Neckline Knitting Calculator?

The Neckline Knitting Calculator helps you get precise calculations for knitting a perfect neckline shape and size. Using your measurements and gauge, it calculates how many stitches you need to cast on, the depth of the neckline, and guides you for different neckline types like round, V-neck, scoop, or boat neck.

Explanation of Input Fields

  • Measurement Unit: Choose between centimeters (cm) or inches (in). The calculator works according to the unit you select.
  • Gauge - Stitches (per 10 cm / 4 in): Enter the number of stitches you get in 10 cm or 4 inches based on your knitting gauge swatch.
  • Gauge - Rows (per 10 cm / 4 in): Enter how many rows you knit in 10 cm or 4 inches, to help calculate vertical measurements.
  • Neckline Type: Select the neckline style you want:
    • Round/Crew Neck
    • V-Neck
    • Scoop Neck
    • Boat Neck
  • Neck Width: Enter the width of the neckline (for example, shoulder-to-shoulder measurement or desired neck width).
  • Neck Depth: Enter the depth from the shoulder line to the lowest point of the neckline.
  • Ease Adjustment: Optionally add or subtract stitches to make the neckline fit looser or snugger.
  • V-Point Stitches: Available only for V-neck style; enter how many stitches should remain at the center bottom point of the V.
